These products, along with AVTECH’s PageR Enterprise (PageR) software, are the most successful and widely used network-wide monitoring products in the world. Although AVTECH believes PageR has advantages and benefits for most users, we recognize these other products and the ongoing commitment of the manufactures and developers that support them.

If you are using one of the network-wide monitoring products mentioned above, please know that there are no known compatibility concerns regarding the use of these products to monitor unlimited numbers of TemPageR and Room Alert units across your network. And, if a concern does arise, AVTECH will work with other vendors to resolve the issue so that you can get back to work quickly and your facility can run as smoothly as possible.

AVTECH respects each customers desire and right to use the network-wide monitoring software of their choice. Please take note that even though our PageR software is bundled with each TemPageR and Room Alert product at no charge to you, there is no requirement that you must use it. Monitoring Heat Index To Protect Your Workers

Heat Index (HI) monitoring has been added to all Room Alert models that monitor humidity, including AVTECH’s new Signal Towers. This functionality will assist in monitoring Heat Index parameters as required by labor agreements and regulations where workers are packaging products, loading trucks, and completing other labor intensive work where body temperature can impact a workers health and safety. Maintaining an adequate Heat Index allows an organization to insure a healthy work environment for employees, protecting them from heat fatigue and helping to increase overall efficiency.

AVTECH was contacted in 2007 by Amazon.com and UPS who were both looking to better protect their employees by automating the monitoring of work environments. Heat Index represents how hot it ‘feels’ by mathematically combining the current temperature and relative humidity. In extreme heat conditions, the human body regulates temperature through perspiration. Heat is carried away from the body as the water in sweat evaporates. However, when the humidity is higher, the water does not evaporate as fast and causes the body temperature to feel warmer than it actually is. As a result, this increases internal body heat to cause fatigue and reduce strength. In extreme cases, working at higher Heat Index levels can cause heat stroke, cardiac arrest and even death.

TREND: Data Loggers Take Early Retirement

Data loggers that became popular over the last decade are beginning to see a dramatic decline in sales as newer technologies automate this function. Although the need to monitor environmental conditions continues to rise, static products that require physical management are seeing a trend of early retirement.
